From a Grandmother to a Granddaughter: Prompt - "My Granddaughter will be going off to college next year. She knows who she is and fights for gender equality, even though she is from a small town in Kansas. She is an artist who has yet to find her own style but, is very good and I know she will find her own way. I want to remind her that she has the strength within her to be and do anything that she desires in this life." Joan of Arc seemed like a good choice / example of someone leading their own charge, so that was the direction this card took. Art From The Post
Postcard #1 Zelda Girl on Dragon Made for Lilly 9 years old from Princeton WV As I lay there wondering what to do next, my mind contemplating the complexities of time and my fingers ruffling through the mail, I came across a letter from a dear friend. My thoughts and actions collided. It had been so long since I had heard from them, the clock winding back as I tried to place them along the timeline. As I read the letter laughing to myself and remembering the past, contemplating the doodles in the far edges of the paper, I felt I wanted to share this same feeling with others. The next day I started work on what would become "Art From The Post." It is here that I want to create art that you can send directly to peoples door. It is here that I want to share my art with the world as I make it for others. If you want to send a little art to yourself or someone you care about, go to my shop. Order something, and before you know it art will appear at the door. To raise enough money to create this website, I did a little kickstarter, and here is the video from that campaign to give you an idea of what I want to do here. |
